The 3rd meeting of the EUSALP Action Group 6, led by the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention and the Land Carinthia, took place from 8-9 June 2017 in Pörtschach am Wörthersee (Carinthia). Following a short plenary session on the latest EUSALP developments, representatives of ministries and regional governments met together with civil society and research experts to discuss the next steps related to the AG’s three main sub-topics: Spatial development and soil conservation, future oriented farming and forestry and integrated and sustainable water management. Fruitful discussions and an active exchange among the Action Group members allowed achieving considerable steps forward towards the implementation of the AG’s work plan. Valuable inputs for cooperation were also given by the ongoing Alpine Space Projects Links4Soils and AlpFoodway. To allow the AG6 members to actively make use of the existing EUSALP tools, e.g. the EUSALP website, also communication and administrative aspects were discussed. The next AG6 meeting will take place in January 2018 in Bolzano/Bozen back-to-back to an international networking event, organized by AG6, AG5 and Platform Land South Tyrol.
