This 25 September marks the fourth anniversary of the historic adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals. Like the rest of the world, also the Alpine Convention is looking to New York, were global leaders, experts and stakeholders are seizing the momentum of the UN High-level week of the General Assembly to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Alpine Convention is a unique example of putting the Sustainable Development Goals into practice at transnational level. We do this through our Protocols, Declarations and partnerships. And there is more: many of the Alpine Convention activities comply with one or more SDGs, setting daily examples of the SDGs implementation. The Alpine Convention brings together governments, civil society, the private sector, non-governmental organizations and other actors for the protection and sustainable development of the Alpine area, which is a precious part of a more just and sustainable world.
Everyone needs to do their part to reach the Goals. The Alpine Convention has some instruments that can support you in this! For example, the ClimCards card game. This game shows how you can take concrete action against climate change. With different unexpected events, the game simulates the situations in which we find ourselves while trying to achieve the aim of climate neutral and climate resilient Alps. Join us and preorder the card game in your preferred Alpine language via communications@alpconv.org.
