The Alpine-wide Conference Greening the Economy in the Alpine Region took place today in Rosenheim (Germany). Organized by the German Environment Agency with the support of the Alpine Convention, the conference aimed at promoting the results of the sixth Report on the State of the Alps as well as fostering a discussion among relevant stakeholders on different themes of green economy. Together with a number of panelists, the German State Secretary Rita Schwarzel-Ühr Sutter also participated in the Conference, calling for a shift towards a greener economy while adressing the current challenges posed by climate change. Four different panels took place, dealing with the topics of regional economic development, innovation, climate neutral municipalities and well-being of the residents.
