The Permanent Secretariat participated in the 3rd International Colloquium on Climate Change in Mountain Areas, organised by the Pyrenees Climate Change Observatory (OPCC) and the Aragon Region on 23 October in Jaca (Spain). Concrete results of research dealing with the impacts of climate change on water resources, forests etc. in the Pyrenees were presented, as well as a range of good practices for adaptation in landscape management, agriculture, tourism and more. A round table discussion was dedicated to the stakes of cooperation between mountain areas. The Permanent Secretariat reported on the current work on the Alpine Climate Target System 2050 and, together with the other panellists, insisted on the importance of networking to continue to speak with a common voice to raise awareness on the specific issues and solutions to climate change in mountains.
