From 5 to 11 December – International Mountain Day – the Reading Mountains festival initiated by the Alpine Convention took place. Thousands of people had the chance to celebrate International Mountain Day and the rich cultural heritage of the Alps together under the umbrella of the Alpine Convention – in all Alpine languages and countless dialects. With more than 130 events in all eight Alpine countries and far beyond, the Reading Mountains festival was a huge success. It is very nice to see how the Alps, even though shared by eight different countries, have the ability to connect the people in a unique way. And that´s exactly what the Alpine Convention is about: Cooperation for a sustainable development and protection of our valuable region.
