Water is the source of life. In the Alps, the water is visible in lakes, rivers, glaciers, snow, rain and in many more forms. It is the basis for numerous economy activities and for the generation of energy. The Alpine Convention declared the topic water as one of its main fields of work and wants to underline the significance of Water in the Alps.
