Discovering new worlds, people, and ideas, exploring different realities and histories, without ever leaving your chair – getting lost in the pages of our books, whether old favourites or entirely new stories, is one of the greatest experiences in life. Literature captures different ideas and perspectives about the world, and are an integral part of cultural history.
The Alps are no exception, where literature is one of the foundations of the region’s rich cultural heritage, which is why the Alpine Convention’s annual Reading Mountains Festival is dedicated to celebrating it.
Organised every year around International Mountain Day on 11 December, the Reading Mountains Festival events remind us how important Alpine stories are to people across the region and beyond.
This year, the Festival is entering its ninth edition and is always looking for new partners to join. If this is of interest to you, read more on the Festival page and register here!
