With sadness in our hearts, we report about the passing away of Mr. Armin Schabus, long-standing representative of the Austrian Länder in the Permanent Committee of the Alpine Conference and well-loved member of the Alpine community.
As one of the ones who paved the way for the joint leadership of the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention and Carinthia of EUSALP Action Group 6, Armin was always happy to share his rich experience in cross-border and transnational cooperation in the Alpine region.
The Alps were also important in Armin’s leisure time. His enthusiasm for long-distance hiking led him to explore almost the entire Alps.
As the team of the Permanent Secretariat, and on behalf of the whole Alpine Convention family, we express our condolences to Mr. Schabus’ family. Ut tibi sit terra levis, dear Armin!
