The Permanent Secretariat and the Slovenian Presidency of the Alpine Convention met in Logarska Dolina, Slovenia, for two days of meetings and exchanges from 18 to 19 December.
The teams from the Permanent Secretariat and from the Slovenian Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning discussed workflows and evaluated the work of the first year of the Slovenian Presidency. Discussions also centred around the next year leading up to the XVIII Alpine Conference in January 2025 and the plans for producing the documents for the ministerial conference.
The Slovenian Presidency team also gave an update on the status and evaluations of its three Presidency priority topics: quality of life, climate change education, and biodiversity. Follow-ups and future steps were further developed during the meetings.
This was the final Slovenian Presidency event in 2023, and, as with all other events and meetings, the Presidency strove to organise it within the Alpine Convention perimeter - luckily for the Permanent Secretariat, in the beautiful surroundings of Logarska Dolina!
