Secretary General Markus Reiterer participated in the opening ceremonies of the new Bergsteigerdörfer (mountaineering villages) Sachrang/Schleching in the Bavarian Chiemgau region and Matsch in South Tyrol on 21 and 23 July. He welcomed them, together with the political representatives, to the circle of sustainable tourism oriented municipalities and praised this initiative of the Austrian Alpine Club, which has already been in place for over 10 years, as a very good implementation project of the Alpine Convention.
