On Friday 27 September, Secretary General Alenka Smerkolj and her deputy, Marianna Elmi met the Head of the German Delegation, Martin Weiß, the Focal Point for Germany, Christian Ernstberger as well as Stephanie Pfahl and Gabriele Kuczmierczyk of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in Berlin (DE). In a good spirit of cooperation many topics were discussed: upcoming meetings, the Working Groups of the Alpine Convention, the preparation of the upcoming conference on the topic of sustainable tourism and outdoor sports and the implementation of the Green Economy Action Plan.
Highlighted were the importance of intensively working together - especially on an international level - to master the current and future challenges the Alpine area is facing and to find the best possible synergies with all partners.
