The Maison de Village of Argentière is located at the foot of the mythical Aiguille Verte mountain in the Chamonix valley close to the Swiss border. 

In addition to being an Alpine Convention Infopoint, where visitors can learn more about the Convention’s work, the Maison de Village houses local public services: the town hall, post office, as well as exhibitions on natural areas, fauna, and flora. During school holidays, it hosts events for the general public, including nature outings, film screenings, and storytelling evenings. It is a great place to discover the wealth of Chamonix’s natural areas, with free, fun activities. 

The Infopoint in Chamonix is the first one in France and its cooperation with the Permanent Secretariat has been renewed three times (2013, 2019, and 2023). The Infopoint also regularly contributes to the Young Academics Award with a dedicated Infopoint prize.
