Sara Schaar, newly appointed member of the regional government of Carinthia for Environment, Energy and Nature protection, National parks, Women and Generations as well as Society and Integration, welcomed the Action Group 6 (AG6) members and participated in the afternoon of the first day. During the meeting the current status of the two AG6 governance studies in the fields of water management and of spatial development and quantitative soil protection, which are commissioned by the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention within the framework of the AlpGov project, was presented. In addition AG6 co-leader Carinthia will elaborate a financing study and a consecutive financing workshop for Action Groups 6-7-8-9. The meeting was concluded with an excursion to the organic hay-milk cooperative cheese factory Kaslab’n Nockberge in Radenthein.
Representatives of the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention and AG6 Leaders participated at the Synergy Brunch organized by the Alpine Space Program on 5 July in Klagenfurt. The meeting was based on interactive workshops which helped establish new connections to ongoing Alpine Space projects.
In the afternoon the project partners of the Interreg Alpine Space project AlpGov met in Pörtschach am Wörthersee to discuss the progress of the single work packages, communication activities and the possibility of a prolongation of the project. At the end of the meeting, the project partners had a common session with the EUSALP Executive Board, which met at the same time to prepare the EUSALP Annual Forum in November 2018 and to get an overview of the program of the upcoming Italian EUSALP Presidency 2019.
